In a quick reaction to former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode’s statement that Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State should resign from his position as the governor of the state over the victory of the Senator-elect for Osun West Ademola Adeleke, sources say the governor will not resign.
The governor who had earlier said he would resign should Adeleke win the just concluded Osun West Senatorial bye-election which the latter eventually won in a ladnslide is now likely to renege on his promise.
From all indications and according to feelers from informed sources close to him, Governor Aregbesola may not resign.Just yesterday, he (Aregbesola) said through his twitter handle ”I thank our supporters for their continued show of commitment to our cause, important lessons have been learnt…”.
And according to a source,Aregbesola has allegedly confided in some of his(APC) party stalwarts in the State that there’s no point leaving the good job he is doing at the moment, adding that he would like to complete his term in order to see through his on-going projects in the state.
We would recall that Fani-Kayode yesterday called on the governor through his twitter handle not to renege on his earlier promise to ”resign if Adeleke wins Osun West Senatorial bye-election”.
